How to get to the temple or temple of Wat Pho
It can be done in two ways, using a car or a motor boat along the Chao Phraya River.

The History of Wat Pho Temple and Home to the Giant Buddha
The temple where the statue of the sleeping Wat Pho Buddha was founded in 1782. Formerly known as Wat Potaram. This is also the oldest temple in Bangkok even before modern Thailand was founded. At that time, the Thai royal center was still based in Ayutthaya. After the capture of Ayutthaya by the Burmese, King Rama expanded the temple to include statues and artifacts preserved by Ayutthaya in 1801. The temple was later named Wat Phra Chetuphon.
In addition to being home to the Reclining Buddha Statue, Wat Pho Temple is also the first state university in Thailand. Locals come here to study and practice traditional medicine, as well as traditional Thai massage.
