REUSABLE BLESSED WATER BOTTLES’
At check-in, every guest at Lombok Lodge Boutique Hotel, Medana Bay – as well as the brand new private Villa Estate, Gondang Beach – will receive a reusable water bottle that guests can use during their stay and take home as a souvenir. of his vacation.

As a guest at the Lombok Hospitality Office, you can ask to refill your water bottle with the water of your choice at any time; ice water or healthy detox water of the day.

In addition, as part of our sustainable work, we are also completely increasing the use of plastic water bottles. Guests at Lombok and the Villa Estate can find free glass water bottles, empty ones collected and recycled.

PAPAW STUFF
Using plastic products and arranging them seems light, especially just plastic straws, due to their small size and light weight. Small as it may seem, plastic products are not biodegradable; and they will survive us and many posterity.

Plastic straws have been used since the 1960s and have had negative effects on our planet for over 50 years. It is estimated that by 2000 there will be more plastic than fish! In particular, single-use plastic straws are not biodegradable and difficult to recycle due to their light weight, as they cannot successfully pass through recycling equipment. Therefore, another option is to find plastic straws.

Papaya oats have a double benefit; It supports our environment and also generates extra revenue for papaya farmers, as they are suppliers of raw materials. Papaya leaves are often lost at harvest because they are used the least. so they are left to biodegrade. However, papaya leaves are growing in popularity as we move towards more sustainable alternatives to plastic straws.

It should be noted that papayas make surprisingly folded straws. First, a papaya leaf is cut from the tree and the trunk is left with holes on both sides. The bitter taste can be removed by boiling it in salt water with turmeric. This will remove the bitter taste from the stem and also completely kill any germs or bacteria. After this, they are air-dried, as drying in the sun causes the papaya trunk to shrink and lose its natural color.

ORGANIC GARDEN

PRIVATE VILLA ESTATE, GONDANG BEACH
To support the local environment, we grow our own vegetables! Lombok Lodge ‘Organic Gardens by the Sea’ are located in the brand new Secret Villa Estate. Let it be bitter, cherry tomatoes, spinach, variety of lettuce, eggplant, Lombok pepper, sweet potatoes and many vegetables used by Chef Jiwa and his team to cook.

Did you know that we have our own cashew nuts and our organic cashew nut roast? Do you know that Chef Jiwa Lombok Lodge makes super healthy Cacao Nibs from our Cacao tree? Did you know about our bee farm in the Private Villa Estate, where we can collect delicious organic honey to use in cooking and making tea?

Each private villa has its own coconut grove and its own organic garden, with different herbs and other plants to choose from. The gardeners of Lombok take care of the plants every day with the utmost care and passion.

Hotel Boutique, MEDANA BAV
Don’t miss out on a visit to ‘The Organic Tea Garden’ at Lombok Lodge Boutique Hotel, Medana Bay. We grow plants and herbs such as Mint, Lombok Matcha (Moringa), Hibiscus, Rosella and more, all of which are used to make our custom made teas.

In the Tea Lounge – located in the Organic Tea Garden, guests can sit and enjoy afternoon tea amongst the plants from which it is made.

THE CHIEF OF THE SOUL IS NOTHING THE PEOPLE OF PHILOSOPHY

AUTHOR CONSUMPTION & PRODUCTION
Following his passion for efficient kitchen management principles, our Chef Jiwa Raga renovated his kitchen, introducing a Zero-waste philosophy. It soaks a little in the kitchen.

THE PLACE OF LOBBY BEES
Since 2021 we have produced our honey together with Nyoman, Lombok Beekeeper and Honey Producer. Honey from the beehives on the grounds of the brand new private Villa – Lombok Lodge – is used in the kitchen for various dishes, whipped up in our breakfast, but also for salt. VANILLA LOMBOK
Currently, Chef Jiwa Lombok is helping local farmers in Narmada and Gondang to join our Organic Vanilla Movement.

Local Community Support

LOCAL PRODUCTS
Another important part of Lombok Hospitality Lodge’s philosophy is to be more sustainable, in the sense that we buy many products locally. This discourages the transportation of goods from other islands/regions, which prevents major air pollution.

In addition to supporting local farmers by purchasing additional supplies of papaya leaves, we also do our best to support the local fishermen of Medana Bay. Very often, local fishermen come directly to Chef Jiwa – the Executive Chef of Lombok Lodge Concept – to catch us their catches, such as mahi-mahi, tuna or yellow snapper. In this way, we try to support the local community, providing them with additional income, and avoiding insurmountable means of transporting food locally. By transporting local food such as fish, we also ensure that we do not buy food that has been produced inconspicuously in another place.

USE OF PREMISES
Actively in Lombok Lodge. The food grown in our permaculture gardens – and all the other delicious products – are made on site by the villagers, who produce everything in small batches to capture the true flavor of each ingredient. It’s a healthy thing to do!

2. Use your own water bottle / reusable drinking bottle
3. Do not accept plastic bottles or straws, but choose places that use alternatives such as glass and paper.
4. Make the electricity to turn off the air conditioners and lights when you are not in your room.
