If friends take a package tour to Guilin, the first destination is usually the Reed Flute Cave or Tiexiang Cave which is located in the northern region of Guilin City, Guangxi Province, China. Here we marvel at the mysteries of nature in the caves of rock formations that inspire the imagination.
Tiexiang Cave, which in English is called Reed Flute Chili, has its name from the green reeds growing outside it, a family of grasses, which are often used for pipes. But there are those who say that the name of the Red Cavalry Flute is formed by stalactites and stalagmites, which resemble the red pipes found in a cave.
Exploring Tiexiang Cave – Reed Flute Cave
After buying the tickets, our tour guide brought us to our first stop, which is a mini manly class that caters to all kinds of Chinese people. The lights are placed in various places for a spectacular effect reflected by the limestone formations from the walls and ceiling of the cave.
