East Java, which is known for some of the most beautiful mountain scenery in Indonesia, has always had very few options for luxury accommodations. It is not surprising that the opening of Plataran Resort in Bromo was one of the most anticipated news.
I stayed here before their first year of opening and was very pleased with the whole experience. But I’m curious to see how things develop over time.
The good news: he got it right!

After I had made my way through the bends, I arrived at his majesty’s vestibule. The impeccably modern structure with transparent glass blends beautifully with its warm yellow lights.
Check in was a breeze, with just me sipping on my favorite warm tea while the staff took care of all my tinkering.
From the lobby, the elevator brought us to the top floor, which is connected to the hill housing several different buildings. This is the signature of the Plataran Bromo experience, several independent mountain structures, each with its own common room and private guesthouses. It is perfect for a family or single person who likes traveling well in a cozy setting.

We settled into our room, a compact yet exquisitely designed space with the best amenities you can find in this area.

Generally there are few activities in Bromo places that it is difficult to justify more than 1 night to get up early the next day to see. That changes at Plataran Bromo.
Their restaurant is top class; not only because of the great Indonesian food, but also because of the signature steamed soup, a happy encounter with the cold mountain weather. The private hill is home to beautiful plants as well as a nice spot for sunset. Their Padma Spa is the best you will find, and the amazing view from the Spa deck is just awesome.
Overall, this is an experience you don’t want to miss when you’re in Bromo.
To love
