It is believed that the convergence of development of these 5 destinations is the future of Indonesia’s tourism industry. The 5 DSPs are Lake Toba in North Sumatra, Borobudur in Central Java, Mandalika in Nusa West Tenggara (NTB), Labuan Bajo in Nusa Tenggara (NTT), and Likupang in North Sulawesi. These five destinations have great potential, uniqueness and tourist attraction, but a lot of touch still needs to be developed.
With a good response, especially after the Covid-19 pandemic, the government is increasingly trying to develop Indonesia’s tourism in five destinations, namely Lake Toba in North Sumatra, Borobudur in Central Java, Mandalika in West Nusa Tenggara, Labuan Bajo in East Nusa Tenggara and Likupang in North Sulawesi. These five destinations have great uniqueness and appeal. Through good development, these five destinations can become the “New Bali” for tourism in Indonesia that is internationally known.
